November 16, 2017
Dr. Jayakumar Patil, a psychiatrist in New Hampshire, was reprimanded by the New Hampshire Board of Medicine after an investigation found he had provided inadequate care for a patient he treated for nearly 12 years. Investigators found problems with his record keeping, consultations and procedures required before prescribing medication.
Patil must pay a $10,000 fine, undertake extensive medical education courses and have his work monitored by an expert.
His license was suspended for 30 days earlier this year.
