New Hampshire mental health counselor disciplined for ethics code violation
June 29, 2006
On June 29, 2006 New Hampshire mental health counselor Brenda Desmaris was disciplined by the state Board of Mental Health Practice for violations of the national mental health association's code of ethics when she sent to the court a report on the child's condition without first getting a release from the child's parents and advocated that the child's visitation with the father be suspended. She waived a hearing, and agreed to pay for one-year's supervision and continuing education after divorce and custody, risk management and role confusion.
