NY School Psychologist Elizabeth Tucker-Schultz Arrested on Sexual Abuse Charge

Fleming, N.Y. — A woman who worked as a girls swimming and diving coach for the Christian Brothers Academy has been fired following an arrest involving sexual abuse on Friday, officials said. The woman also works as a psychologist for the Syracuse City School District and has been placed on leave.

Elizabeth Tucker-Schultz, 58, of Fayetteville, was arrested in the town of Fleming in Cayuga County and charged with third-degree sexual abuse, a misdemeanor, according to the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office arrest blotter.

Tucker-Schultz also works as a psychologist for the Syracuse City School District at Salem Hyde Elementary School, according to a Syracuse City School District staff directory.

Tucker-Schultz has been placed on administrative leave while the case is pending, said Michael Henesey, a school district spokesperson.

“At this time, we do not believe this arrest is in any way related to their work here with the District,” Henesey said in an email.

Tucker-Schultz makes $108,343 per year as a city school psychologist, according to district payrolls.

Due to the nature of the charge, the Christian Brothers Academy fired Tucker-Schultz from her job, said Matt Keough, a spokesperson for the school. The alleged incident is unrelated to the school, Keough told syracuse.com | The Post-Standard.

CBA is a private school for grades 7-12.
