Mississippi psychologist arrested on felony drug charge

On June 7, 2017, Luke Savoie, a Mississippi psychologist, was arrested on a felony drug charge of possession of etizolam, a Schedule I controlled substance. Etizolam has no currently accepted medical use in the United States and is banned in several states, including Mississippi.
The Director of the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics said that agents seized approximately 100 dosage units of etizolam. Savoie was booked into the Rankin County Adult Detention Facility.
