Michigan psychologist sentenced to nine months in jail for sexual misconduct

Michigan psychologist Mark Jones, who was previously found guilty of sexual misconduct with a patient, was sentenced to nine months in jail and five years probation.

He was arraigned last April after being accused of having sex with a 50-year-old female patient during or around the time when the woman was under his care as a mental health client a year prior.  He was found guilty on two charges of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct-mental health professional and of delivery-manufacturing marijuana.

Assistant Prosecutor Mona Armstrong said, “(These are), perhaps, some of the most offensive crimes this court will see. … This is the absolute worst — (an offense against) someone who went to him who needed healing, who needed assistance.”
