Michigan psychologist's license suspended for fraud
February 7, 2018
Michigan psychologist George Edwin Compton Jr. has had his license suspended after pleading guilty to health care fraud.
On June 22, he pleaded guilty to defrauding health care benefits programs of more than $800,000 between Jan. 1, 2013 and June 30, 2016. He admitted to billing insurance companies for counseling sessions that never occurred and in some cases creating false patient-treatment records to cover his tracks.
The Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs has now served an order summarily suspending his license.
