Medical Boards Suspend Psychiatrist Chantal Nouvellon following Assault Charges
March 25, 2025
On December 20, 2024, the New Hampshire Board of Medicine issued an Order of Emergency Suspension against Nashua psychiatrist Chantal Nouvellon, citing her as being an imminent danger to public health, safety, or welfare.
This action follows an earlier disciplinary action that was taken against Nouvellon in another state: On October 24, 2024, the Massachusetts Board of Medicine suspended Nouvellon’s license, after finding that she posed an immediate and serious threat to the public health, safety, and welfare.
The Massachusetts Board noted that Nouvellon was charged with Assault and Battery, Assault and Battery on an Elder/Disabled Person, and Resisting Arrest in an incident involving an elderly family member. The Board also alleged that in an event with a neighbor a few days later, Nouvellon was arrested on two counts of Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, Assault and Battery on A Police Officer, Vandalizing Property, Resisting Arrest, and two counts of Violation of a Harassment Prevention Order.
The New Hampshire Board’s document, in addition to including the Massachusetts criminal charges, also state that Nouvellon demonstrated an inability to make sound and careful decisions for the vulnerable population to which she serves. Her actions demonstrated a lack of even temperament necessary for medical practice.
