Married psychiatrist gets his license revoked for having a sexual relationship with patient

On May 10, 2017, New Jersey psychiatrist Theodore F. Jasper had his license revoked by the State Board of Medical Examiners for having an inappropriate sexual relationship with a patient.  Jasper started treating the patient in 2004 and the personal relationship began in 2013.  He reportedly had sex with the patient at her home and in his office, despite the fact that Jasper was married.  

The board found that his actions constituted the use or employment of dishonesty, gross or repeated malpractice, professional misconduct and failure to be of good moral character.

His license was revoked, retroactive to August 2015 when he first agreed to stop practicing.  He is ineligible to apply for or obtain a medical license in New Jersey until August 2019, four years after the effective date of the revocation.
