Marriage therapist fined by state for employing unqualified counselor
June 18, 2013
On September 21, 2012, licensed professional counselor and marriage & family therapist Alysius C. Allen entered into a Consent Agreement and Order with the Louisiana Licensed Professional Counselors Board of Examiners, to pay a fine of $300 and investigative costs of $692 to the Board.
Allen came under investigation by the Board and admitted to hiring an employee to provide mental health counseling through his company, Allen’s Consultation & Training (ACT), though the employee was not registered or licensed to practice mental health counseling in the state of Louisiana, and allowed this individual to perform such services.
