Mark Solomon, Ottawa psychiatrist, charged with sexual assault on patient

A 76-year-old Ottawa psychiatrist has been charged with sexual assault after a patient of his told police he touched her inappropriately during medical appointments at his office.
Mark Solomon was charged by police last week and was released from custody on a promise to appear in court.
The patient, a 37-year-old woman, came forward to police on March 29. She said the incidents happened in his office at 1867 Lenester Ave., near Maitland and Carling avenues.
Solomon's next court appearance is scheduled for May 9.
The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario website lists a Mark Solomon as a psychiatrist with an independent practice. The website says he graduated from the University of Aix-Marseille II in 1976, and was registered to practice independently in 1985.
According to the website, Solomon has no previous disciplinary findings and is an active member of the college.
A call to his office went unanswered Wednesday afternoon.
