Lawsuit: Walter Reuther Psych Hospital Staff Encouraged Teen to Beat 10-Year-Old

Surveillance cameras captured a 10-year-old boy as he was chased down and then stomped and kicked by a 15-year-old girl. Both children were residential patients under the care of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services at the Walter Reuther Psychiatric Hospital, which houses the Hawthorn Center.

Attorney Arnold Reed has filed suit against the state on behalf of the boy’s family. The girl’s family has also filed suit.
