Korean Psychiatrist Yang Jae-woong and 12 Staff Charged in 2024 Death of Patient

Psychiatrist and broadcaster Yang Jae-woong, who operates the hospital involved in a patient death case, has been referred to prosecutors.

According to a Yonhap News report on the 26th, the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Gyeonggi Nambu Provincial Police Agency handed over Yang Jae-woong and 12 other hospital staff to prosecutors on charges including violation of the Medical Service Act. These individuals are accused of neglecting a patient in his 30s, identified as Mr. B, who was undergoing treatment at a mental health hospital in Bucheon on May 27 of last year, leading to his death.
