Kansas psychiatrist suspended as imminent danger to patients and others

April 28, 2008

The Kansas Board of Healing Arts issued an Emergency Order to suspend the license of psychiatrist Kurt Roberts Guindon, pending further proceedings. The Board’s action is based on its finding that Dr. Guindon is unable to practice medicine with reasonable skill and safety to patient “and that the harm to the health and welfare of patients or other persons is not only foreseeable but with a degree of likelihood so that this injury to the public health and welfare is characterized as imminent.”

In 2004, the Citizens Commission on Human Rights filed complaints against Dr. Guindon with the Kansas Board of Healing Arts (and other medical boards in states where he was licensed), on behalf of and based upon the reports of two women who contacted CCHR with similar allegations against him.
