Jailed Psychologist Richard Lenhart, a "Violent Sexual Predator," Denied Early Release
May 8, 2019
A former State College psychologist will remain in jail following a recent ruling by the state's board of probation and parole.
Dr. Richard Lenhart was sentenced in 2016 to three to six years in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of indecent assault. Authorities say Lenhart sexually abused two of his patients and described him as a violent sexual predator.
According to a notice issued by the Pennsylvania Office of Victim Advocate, Lenhart was denied an early release for several reasons, including his level of risk to the community and his denial and refusal to accept responsibility for the offenses.
The notice states Lenhart will serve another year before being considered for early release in April 2020.
