Illinois refuses to renew license of psychiatrist disciplined in Arizona for sex with minor

In September 2007, the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation placed psychiatrist Shelley L. Everly’s license in “refuse to renew” status after Dr. Everley was disciplined in the state of Arizona. Dr. Everly surrendered her Arizona medical license to the state on May 8, 2007, in a Consent Agreement in which she admitted to having committed an act of unprofessional conduct: She had a sexual relationship and committed other boundary violations with a minor patient in 2002.1
