Illinois psychologist Zabrin Inan loses license in California
December 2, 2013
On October 3, 2013, the Medical Board of California suspended the license of psychiatrist Zabrin Inan, based on the suspension or revocation of her license by the licensing authority of another state. Specifically, on August 2, 2013, the Illinois Board of Financial and Professional regulation suspended Inan’s license indefinitely based on allegations that she failed to maintain required physician-patient boundaries and inappropriately prescribed narcotic pain control substances to patients. Allegations pertaining to boundary violations include hiring patients to work at her practice; having patients provide babysitting services for her children; leaving prescriptions to be picked up by patient from her building’s doorman or taped to the office door or from her home; having patient’s stay at her home; providing psychiatric treatment to her then-husband and her then-fiance; and befriending patients.
