Four Winds Hospital: 20 Former Patients File Lawsuits over Sexual Abuses

Twenty former patients have accused Four Winds Hospitals of failing to properly prevent and address incidents of sexual abuse inside the institution, according to recent litigation.

The psychiatric hospital corporation with facilities in Saratoga Springs and Westchester County (New York) is facing a barrage of lawsuits brought forward by New York City-based Levy Konigsberg LLP over such allegations.

The former patients claim each of the alleged forms of abuse — including rape and groping under sedation — could’ve been avoided had Four Winds officials properly monitored interactions among personnel and patients, adequately trained staff and cautiously hired employees following past incidents in the mental health care field.
