Florida social worker Ryan C. Moore loses license over cocaine

October 23, 2012

On May 22, 2012, the Florida Board of Clinical Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy and Mental Health Counseling accepted the voluntary relinquishment of the license of mental health counselor Ryan Curtis Moore. According to the Board’s Order, Moore entered into a contract with the Florida Professionals Resource Network (PRN) in August 2008. PRN is a program that monitors the evaluation, care and treatment of impaired healthcare professionals, oversees random drug screens and provides for the exchange of information between treatment providers and the Department of Health for the protection of the public. Moore’s PRN contract required him to “abstain completely from the use of any medications, alcohol and other mood altering substances.” However, in January 2010, he tested positive for cocaine. PRN subsequently terminated his contract.
