Florida psychiatrist James Schaller loses Delaware license, gun privileges
January 13, 2014
On January 7, 2014, the Delaware Board of Medical Practice placed psychiatrist James L. Schaller on probation for an indefinite period due to unprofessional conduct.
Schaller, who lives and practices in Florida, was convicted in September 2011 of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
He had become involved in an altercation occurring between his neighbor and her son and had pointed a firearm at the boy, threatening to "blow his head off."
When his own son also became involved, he pointed the gun at him and made the same threat.
Following the conviction, Schaller is no longer permitted to possess firearms.
