October 23, 2012
On May 22, 2012, the Florida Board of Clinical Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy and Mental Health Counseling reprimanded mental health counselor Rebecca J. Potter and placed her on probation for one year with terms and conditions. The Order states that Potter treated a patient, “SC,” for an approximately two-month period in 2009 and that following the termination of the therapist-client relationship, Potter borrowed $4,500 from SC which, as of February 2011 (the time at which Potter came under investigation), Potter had not paid back. Terms of the Order include restitution to SC of $4,500, a fine of $1,000 supervision of her practice by a Board-approved supervisor.
