Criminal trial of Canadian psychiatrist coming to a close

Dr. Ravi Shenava, a Canadian psychiatrist, is currently on trial, charged with five counts of sexual assault and one count of extortion.  In other charges that will be the subject of a separate criminal trial, he is also accused of sexually assaulting five other women.

Shenava has opted not to testify in his defense.  His criminal trial resumes Wednesday with closing submissions from the prosecutor and the defense.  He is also scheduled to go before a disciplinary hearing of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario in February.
