Colorado psychologist Thomas Kalous ceases practice pending criminal trial for alleged patient sex

The Colorado State Board of Psychologist Examiners issued a Stipulation for Interim Cessation of Practice on Thomas Kalous, Ph.D. According to the Order, Dr. Kalous “engaged in sexual conduct or sexual intrusion during the existence of a therapeutic relationship with his patient. Furthermore, there is a pending criminal trial set for December 15, 2008…involving misdemeanor charges associated with these allegations.” Summary suspension proceedings are pending against Dr. Kalous’ license however he and the Board have agreed to stay the proceedings until the outcome of his criminal case.
