Colorado mental health counselor Laura M. Wolff surrenders license over sex with client

On July 5, 2011, the Colorado State Board of Licensed Professional Counselor Examiners accepted the voluntary relinquishment of Laura M. Wolff’s professional counselor license and her right to practice counseling and/or psychotherapy in the state.

According to the Board’s document, Wolff admitted to engaging in a personal relationship with a client she’d treated while employed at Larimer County Community Corrections (LCCC). The client left LCCC in late February 2009 and Wolff became involved in the relationship with former client in June 2009.

In September 2010, she married the former client. Wolff engaged in sexual contact with the client within two years of the termination of the therapeutic relationship.
