Clinical social worker Danielle Reed suspended for numerous charges related to treatment of family

On August 6, 2010, the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners suspended the license of licensed clinical social worker Danielle Reed.

In 2008, Reed began treating a family  (mother, two daughters, mother’s boyfriend, ex-husband and ex-husband’s wife—one daughter lived with the mother and the other lived with the father).

In December 2008, while working toward reunification between the father and one of the daughters, it became clear to Reed that such would be problematic due to the daughter’s extreme negative reaction toward her father.  However, she never informed the court of this development.  Reed told the mother and father that the daughter needed a forensic interview before reunification could occur.  She did not report her suspicions about the father to CPS.

The Board’s document details numerous other acts of negligence and/or incompetence and/or unprofessional conduct in the treatment of this family.

Reed agreed to not renew her license or reapply for licensure when her license expires (in October 2010) and she is prohibited from engaging in the practice of behavioral health or claming to be a licensee in Arizona.
