October 11, 2013
On January 10, 2013, the North Carolina Social Work Certification and Licensure Board revoked the license of clinical social worker Bradley Dent.
The Board’s document states that in approximately September of 2012, Dent was arrested and charged with a sexual offense involving a minor, indecent liberties with a minor and other related charges.
Dent was subsequently suspended from his position as an elementary school teacher and suspended as well from his position as a part-time therapist with a counseling center.
In November 2012, he was facing a total of six counts of sexual abuse and was subsequently hospitalized in a mental health facility following a suicide attempt.
In December, additional charges of sexual abuse were made against him and he was returned to jail.
