Chief medical officer reprimand for sexual relationship with a suicidal former patient

Psychiatrist Kenneth Fattmann, formerly the medical director of a Missouri Boys and Girls Town facility and now the chief medical officer for Ozark Guidance, a mental health center in Arkansas, was reprimanded on July 27, 2017 for fostering a sexual relationship with a former patient. She was contemplating suicide when they met weeks earlier.

He continued communicating with the her after she was discharged from Cox North Hospital in Springfield, Mo., where he had treated her. He hired her as a babysitter, and for four months, from Aug. 24, 2010 to Dec. 26, 2010, they had “intermittent personal and romantic interaction.”

Earlier, in September of 2016, his Missouri medical license was suspended by the medical board for failure to pay state taxes. It was reinstated after he paid them.
