Canadian psychiatrist James Hanley loses license in second province

In early December 2007, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick revoked psychiatrist James Hanley's license. Dr. Hanley admitted to having a sexual relationship with a patient who he had treated for 17 years. That patient brought a complaint against him to the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador, alleging that Hanley took advantage of her during a vulnerable period in 2003. The College in that province revoked his license earlier this year.¹
