California psychologist may see additional child porn charges
November 29, 2017
A plea deal between the federal government and Kenneth Breslin, a 69-year old child psychologist, appears to be falling apart after new allegations that he continued to view child pornography while awaiting a trial on similar charges.
Breslin was running a private practice called A Child's Point of View until authorities raided his home last year and found thousands of child porn images. He was indicted in December and bailed out of jail within days.
In April, authorities caught him using the internet in violation of a signed court order and there was evidence that he was using encryption techniques to download child pornography. He also emailed himself several links to files that seemed to be associated with child porn. Although an investigator called his activities "suspicious," there was not enough evidence for new charges.
He agreed to a plea deal in September, but prosecutors delayed multiple times, saying they are working to build a new case against Breslin. Last week, they listed out new allegations against him in court.
His next court date is scheduled for Febraury 8.
