California psychologist Christine LeBlanc surrenders license on charge of sex with former patient

On July 2, 2012, Christine LeBlanc, Psy.D. surrendered her license to the California Board of Psychology.

According to the Board’s Accusation, in August 2010, LeBlanc began providing psychotherapy to a 56-year-old man who sought treatment following his wife’s suicide.

LeBlanc conducted approximately 46 sessions with the man over an approximately 13-month period, though she only documented 23 of them.

Within days of the termination of the man’s treatment, LeBlanc commenced a social relationship with him. Within a week, she had sexual intercourse with him.

She did the same on two additional occasions in the following weeks, as well as exchanging a voluminous amount of phone calls and text exchanges, before ending the social relationship.
