California medical board reprimands psychiatrist for non-compliance
January 13, 2014
On November 6, 2013, the Medical Board of California issued an Accusation against psychiatrist James L. Knoll, seeking to suspend, revoke or otherwise discipline his license.
The Board’s document states that in January 2013, the Alaska Medical Board reprimanded Knoll and fined him $3,500 for failure to comply with the Alaska Board’s continuing medical education (CME) requirement: Knoll was to have certified a total of 50 hours of required CME but only provided certification for 45 hours of approved CME credit.
He claimed he had attended other trainings that would have satisfied the CME requirements but failed to submit documentation.
