California child psychologist pleads guilty to child porn, contempt of court
March 7, 2018
California child psychologist Kenneth Breslin pleaded guilty to two counts of possessing child porn and one count of contempt of court.
At the time of his October 2016 arrest, Breslin was a child psychologist who ran his own private practice called “A Child’s Point of View.” Authorities found thousands of child porn images on his computer.
After being charged in state and then federal court, he posted bail and then agreed to a plea deal which was supposed to be finalized last year. The deal started to fall apart in April, however, after it was found that Breslin continued to download and send images with file names associated with child porn, and even tried to disguise the activity by routing it through another server. This was despite the fact that he had been ordered off the internet as a condition of his release on bond.
In January, federal prosecutors officially pulled out of the plea deal and hit Breslin with a new indictment that included child porn and criminal contempt charges.
His sentencing date has been set for May 27.
