Board disciplines Virginia social worker Stan Tebbe
April 24, 2014
On March 10, 2014, the Virginia Board of Counseling placed licensed professional counselor Stan Tebbe on six months practice supervision with terms.
Tebbe counseled an adolescent female client from February 2012 to January 2013, during which time the client told him that she’d been “touched in an inappropriate manner by her mother’s boyfriend” when she was 11 or 12 years old.
Tebbe failed to make a report to Child Protective Services, failed to help the client process the sexual abuse and failed to assess its impact on the substance abuse problem he was counseling her for.
