Arizona mental health counselor suspended for "intimate relationship" with client
May 30, 2008
On May 30, 2008 the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners issued a Consent Agreement and Order between itself and licensed professional counselor Barbara McMiller, revoking McMiller’s license. The revocation however was stayed and the Board suspended her for five years. According to the Board’s report, this disciplinary action was taken in regard to McMiller’s treatment of a client whom she counseled for approximately three months. She then resigned from the agency where she was employed and began an intimate relationship with the client.1
