Arizona Psychiatrist Rajeev Billing Surrenders Medical License Following Narcotics Conviction

December 7, 2020

On October 9, 2020 the Arizona Medical Board accepted the surrender of the medical license of psychiatrist/addiction medicine specialist Rajeev Singh Billing.

Singh was arrested on February 4, 2020 after allegedly smokingd marijuana and ingesting cocaine with a patient with whom he developed a friendship, according to court documents.

Billing was subsequently fired by his employer, 2nd Chance Treatment Centers.

Billing allegedly first offered the patient marijuana and alcohol while the two hung out at his home watching boxing matches in December 2019, according to court documents. The patient initially declined because of worry of failing a drug test and not receiving substance abuse medication, according to court documents. Billing allegedly told the patient he would delay a drug test in order to make sure the drugs were out of the patient’s system, according to court documents. The patient then allegedly agreed to and partook in smoking marijuana, court documents say. Billing and the patient later went to a strip club and allegedly smoked more marijuana before returning to his home and ingesting cocaine, according to court documents. Billing also allegedly gave the patient oxycodone, according to court documents.

A search warrant executed at Billings’ home on Jan. 17 turned up marijuana, drug paraphernalia for marijuana and cocaine, and three prescription bottles, court documents say.

On August 27, 2020, Billing pleaded guilty in Maricopa County Superior Court to Attempt to Commit Narcotic Drug Possession/Use--a Class 5 felony. The court sentenced him to terms and conditions of probation which included the surrender of his medical license.

Dr Billing was a creep from the very beginning, he definitely over charged his clients as my insurance company came to tell me.
I%u2019m not surprised IMO he doesn%u2019t deserve a license to practice, all he was worried about was the money.

Mark Cone , it wasn%u2019t Dr. Billing who charged patients it was the MD director who put the price. It was the same price regardless what provider you would have as your provider. If he was such a creep you should have requested a different provider but I%u2019m sure you would benefit having Dr. Blling as your provider knowing he would prescribe you the meds you need.

I trained with this MD in MN and had concerns from the beginning. I am glad he was caught early in his career and I hope he can never work with patients again.

Went to this center on my own for help and ended up with this pos, zero professionalism as he scolded me and belittled me ultimately causing me to feel extremely overwhelmed and as if I was being completely judged. This guy should never practice psychiatry again. Especially when people are going through life and death situations, this guy was all ego. Good he had to give up his license and it makes sense why he acted the way he did, I believe I had appointments still in place when he was arrested on TV
