Acadia Healthcare: Cross Creek Hospital Staff Arrested after Choking 10-year-old

An Austin nurse is accused of choking and assaulting a 10-year-old patient at a mental health facility earlier this year, according to a newly filed arrest affidavit.

Shanay Michelle Meekins, 40, is charged with first-degree felony injury to a child involving serious bodily injury or mental impairment in connection to the incident on Feb. 11 at Cross Creek Hospital in northeast Austin.
