Psychologist Kris Schroder Charged with Stealing From Dying Partner

August 12, 2018

Melbourne, Australia - Psychologist Kris Schroder, 57, is accused of stealing more than $250,000 from her terminally ill partner and fraudulently making herself the sole beneficiary of a $2.4 million estate. Schroder allegedly concealed the original will of her long-term partner  who died in 2016. The will from 1998 named her niece and nephew as well as Schroder as beneficiaries, but was replaced by a new document allegedly drafted by Schroder in 2014, which police claim is a fake.

Detectives from the Boroondara crime investigation unit have charged Schroder with more than 140 offenses, including 127 counts of theft, six counts of perjury and six counts of attempting the pervert the course of justice.

Prosecutors will allege that Ms Schroder, a registered psychologist who operates a clinic in Dandenong, was able to persuade two men from Kyneton to witness the fraudulent document. One of the men is believed to be Ms Schroder's former partner.
