WA State Psychologist David B. Allen Suspended on Child Porn Charge

February 26, 2020

The license of a King County (WA) psychologist has been suspended after he allegedly was found with electronic images of a minor engaged in sexually explicit activity, authorities said Thursday.

David B. Allen's license was suspended "immediately," after a Feb. 18 hearing, meaning he cannot practice psychology in Washington state until the matter is resolved, according to a press release issued by the Washington Department of Health.

Allen, who first received his psychology credentials in 1979 and practices in Bellevue, has 20 days to respond to the suspension and charges and ask for a hearing on the matter, according to the statement.

Officials did not say what prompted the charges or if Allen knew the person depicted in the images.

According to a statement of charges posted to the Health Department's website, law enforcement officers served a search warrant at Allen's home in Carnation in November 2019 after he allegedly tried to upload "electronic image files containing depiction(s) of a minor engaged in sexual explicit conduct to an internet image search provider."
