Connecticut Psychologist Arlene Werner Pays $126K to Settle Allegations Regarding False Claims

Waterford, Connecticut - Psychologist Arlene Werner entered into a civil settlement agreement with the federal and state governments and paid over $126K to settle allegations she violated the federal and state False Claims Act.
 
It is alleged that Werner billed Medicaid for psychotherapy services that were not provided and billed Medicaid for family psychotherapy sessions when the billing should have been for individual services.
 
Werner paid $126,760.09 in order to reimburse the Medicaid program, which covers conduct from January 2011 to July 2016.
