UK psychologist struck off for fraud

February 15, 2018

UK psychologist Denise Whitworth, who claimed sick pay from the NHS (UK's public healthcare system) for a bad back while running a private clinic, has been struck off and can no longer practice as a psychologist.

She told her bosses she was not able to work because of a back injury, claiming full sick pay, but continued to run a private practice.  She was convicted of fraud but a disciplinary panel gave her an indefinite ban, saying she had failed to remedy her 'failings'.
