Alabama psychologist believed to have shot ex-wife to death before killing himself

November 30, 2017

Police believe that Greg Scott, a 63-year-old psychologist in Alabama, shot his ex-wife to death before killing himself amid a custody battle.

On Monday, family members had reported his ex-wife, Mary Timmons Scott, missing along with her and Scott's two young daughters. The two girls were found safe with their aunt but Mary was found shot to death in the trunk of a car just hours after Greg Scott's suicide on Tuesday. Family members suspected that Scott may have tried to lure his ex-wife to his house by falsely claiming that one of the girls was ill.

Mary and Greg were married in 2013 and divorced earlier this month. They were in a legal battle over the custody of their two girls.
