Social worker Steve L. Weston reprimanded for physical contact with patient

October 11, 2013

On September 7, 2012, the North Carolina Social Work Certification & Licensure Board reprimanded clinical social worker Steve L. Weston. The Board’s document states that Weston engaged in unwanted physical contact with a client.

The Board’s investigation found that Weston had agreed to meet with a client after hours to provide her with a letter for her use in obtaining a restraining order against her abusive husband and that while reviewing the letter, the client became distraught, hysterical and anxious and that, in an effort to calm the client, Weston hugged the client and kissed her on the forehead.
