Sex offender treatment provider suspended for three years for laundry list

October 11, 2013

On May 7, 2013, the Washington State Department of Health (DoH), suspended the license of social worker and certified sex offender treatment provider Brian O. Cobb for no fewer than three years. The DoH’s document states that, among other things, Cobb failed to provide sufficient training and supervision to a Sex Offender Treatment Provider Affiliate. The document further states that, in his treatment of eight sex offenders, Cobb variously failed to maintain client files; failed to provide quarterly reports to the clients’ probation officers; failed to develop community protection contracts with clients; engaged in dual relationships and engaged in inappropriate conduct.
