Psychiatrist Mejah Soong issued license with conditions in Washington

September 22, 2013

On April 10, 2013, the Washington Department of Health (DoH) issued a Stipulation to Practice Under Conditions to psychiatrist Mejah Soong.

The DoH initially denied Soong’s application for licensure based on the following: (1) In November 2007, the state of Connecticut revoked her license based on her failure to undergo a mental examination to evaluate her mental state and ability to practice; (2) On February 16, 2011, the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine issued an Order suspending Soong’s right to renew her license, based on the Connecticut action and other issues. Further, Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR) found that the medical licensing authority of the state of Maine also denied her license application in May 2012.
