Psychologist Fernando Cordero surrenders license to state following

January 8, 2012

On March 8, 2012, Fernando Cordero surrendered his license to the California Board of Psychology based on criminal convictions for sexual exploitation and dissuading a witness from reporting a crime.

The charges involved three different victims, all of whom were Cordero's patients. He was sentenced in July 2009  to the strictest sentence possible of seven years in prison.

He appealed but the state appellate court affirmed the conviction on March 23, 2011, thus making it final. He  is also required to register as a sex offender.
