State accuses psychiatrist Judith S. Braun of negligence, dishonesty, corruption, etc.

On December 13, 2011, the Medical Board of California issued and Accusation against psychiatrist Judith Saperstein Braun, for gross negligence, repeated negligent acts, acts of dishonesty or corruption, violation of drug statutes, false representations, creation of false medical records with fraudulent intent, prescribing dangerous drugs without appropriate examination and medical indication, failure to maintain adequate and accurate medical records and general unprofessional conduct.

Braun treated a patient from 2003 to 2011, to whom she prescribed numerous drugs, including controlled substances without appropriate prior medical examination, medical history, mental status exam, treatment plan or medical record. In several instances,

Braun wrote the prescription for the patient in the patient’s mother’s or husband’s name.
