Washington State suspends mental health counselor Audrey Buckton for sex with patient

The Washington State Department of Health (DOH) suspended the credential of registered counselor Audrey Buckton, with no right to seek reinstatement for period of three years. According to the DOH’s published information, Ms. Buckton provided counseling services to a mother/wife, father/husband and child between April 2004 and June 2005, both individually and couples counseling. In April 2007, Ms. Buckton began a romantic and/or sexual relationship with the husband, who moved in with the Buckton in summer of 2007. The relationship continues in the present.1
