Social work board places Jane Rekas on probation for patient safety violations

December 23, 2011

On February 8, 2011, the Oregon State Board of Licensed Social Workers placed licensed clinical social worker Jane Rekas on probation for two years.

According to the Board’s Disciplinary Action Report, Rekas violated Oregon Administrative Rules by assisting a client in the violation of a no-contact order; failing to report the known whereabouts of the client, who was listed as a runaway, to the Department of Human Services or law enforcement; providing the client with transportation and delivering the client to a location near a home without verification of the home’s location or the safety of the home for the client. In another case, Rekas continued to provide services to a minor client after the client’s mother had withdrawn consent for treatment and continued to provide services to the client in her private practice without knowledge or consent of her employer, where the client had sought and received services.
