Arizona social worker Jodi Bracy surrenders license relative to sex with patient, relationship with co-worker

December 23, 2011

On August 1. 2011, the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health (AZBBHE) accepted the surrender of licensed professional counselor Jodi Bracy’s license, deemed a revocation.

According the AZBBHE’s published report, Bracy provided eight group therapy sessions to a client with a significant mental health history, including numerous suicide attempts. She failed to inform her employer (“agency”) that she had had a personal relationship with the client prior to his being treated at the agency.

She was terminated from the agency in January 2011, after the agency discovered she was living with the client.

Bracy admitted that she’d allowed the client to move in with her in June 2010 and they began a sexually intimate relationship.

Prior to her termination, Bracy developed an intimate relationship with a co-worker at the agency. When it ended, Bracy began experiencing problems at work, including displaying/verbalizing anger at the co-worker and failing to keep up with case documentation.
