Arizona counselor William Steiniger sentenced for tax evasion; license suspended

July 19, 2011

On May 31, 2011, the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners suspended the license of professional counselor William Steiniger based on his criminal conviction and subsequent incarceration.

Steiniger was sentenced February 18, 2011 to 42 months in prison on four counts of tax evasion and conspiracy to impede and impair the IRS.

Steiniger had requested in August 2008 that his license be placed on inactive status, which it was. Following his conviction, he requested an extension of inactive status, which was denied.
