May 7, 2007 California psychologist Preston B. Fields surrenders license following guilty plea to criminal sex charge |

On May 7, 2007, psychologist Preston Brian Fields surrendered his license to the California Board of Psychology and may not seek reinstatement for three years. Mr. Fields pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of lewd conduct on February 6, 2006. Mr. Fields was found to have committed sexual abuse by exposing his penis to an 88-year-old patient of a nursing care facility where Mr. Fields delivered psychological services. In addition to his criminal conviction, the Board found Mr. Fields to have committed Sexual Abuse of a Patient, Use of License for Sex Crimes, Unprofessional Conduct and Gross Negligence.1 1 California Board of Psychology website entry for Fields, case number 1F2005163962. |
